Bard and its surroundings

Built on an ancient Roman road leading to Gaul, over the centuries Bard has hosted legionnaires and pilgrims, wayfarers and merchants, artists and adventurers.

The medieval village still contains the evidence of a noble past in the arches and mullioned windows of the architecture, while traces of an older history can be seen in the rock carvings dating back to the Neolithic Era.

The celebrated fort, recently restored, hosts many cultural events such as exhibitions and happenings.

Thanks to its sheltered, sunny location, Bard enjoys a particularly mild and pleasant climate all year round.
